Tender description

Nottinghamshire County Council provided an opportunity for experienced Providers of care home services to join their Framework Agreement. Lot 1: Nottinghamshire County Council (the 'Authority') provided an opportunity for further experienced Providers of care home services (not individual care homes unless the Provider operates a single care home only) to join their Framework Agreement. Under the Framework Agreement the Authority will establish ‘Call-off Contracts’ with Providers who offer placements to older individuals, usually aged 65 and over, in CQC registered establishments located in Nottinghamshire (including Nottingham City). A Framework Agreement is an agreement between the Authority and one or more Providers, the purpose of which is to establish the terms governing Call-off Contracts to be awarded under the Framework Agreement during a given period. The Framework Agreement will be available for use by the following ‘Customers’: • Nottinghamshire County Council • NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Partnership (formerly NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG and NHS Bassetlaw CCG) Call-off Contracts with Providers under this Framework Agreement may be formed by the Customers for new placements as well as existing placements in care homes in Nottinghamshire with the aim of bringing all care home arrangements under the Framework Agreement terms and conditions. Call-off Contracts for ‘Out of County’ placements to care homes operated by Providers who are a party to the Framework Agreement may also be made under the terms of the Framework Agreement.

About the buyer

Nottinghamshire County Council is a local authority whose procurement runs through a single, award-winning centralised team. Suppliers register on EastMidsTenders, the council's online tendering portal, to search for and submit tenders. Contracts above a published threshold are advertised there. The procurement team is organised into categories that mirror the council's own service areas, spanning adult social care, children's and cultural services, the chief executive's office and place-based services. A procurement pipeline lists contracts due for re-tender and new projects over the next two years, and is refreshed annually.

UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).

Over the past 5 years, most of Nottinghamshire County Council's contract awards have been in health and social work, transport equipment and architectural and engineering services.
