Tender description
The Turing Scheme is the UK Government's global programme for students to study and work abroad. This funding allows organisations to provide students across the UK with the chance to develop new skills, gain international experience and boost their employability. The scheme focuses on extending the ladder of opportunity to students from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds to participate in international study and work placements. Now entering its fourth year, the Turing Scheme is continuing to extend opportunities to UK students to take up international student and work placements across the world. The administration of the Turing Scheme was previously outsourced to third parties. However, from the fourth year of the scheme, the Department will directly operate the Turing Scheme. The Department required an independent expert provider to evaluate applications in line with pre-set criteria. Our provider has now been determined by this tender. Additional information: Attachments include the signed and redacted contract, specification and associated schedules.

About the buyer
The Department for Education is a ministerial department responsible for children's services and education policy in England, procuring both for itself and its executive agencies. Requirements are advertised on the Find a Tender service, published through the department's Jaggaer etendering system. Suppliers awarded a contract must register on the Central Digital Platform. Framework purchases follow the matching Crown Commercial Service terms. Many contracts are let on standard government terms, such as Cabinet Office short-form or model services agreements. Schools and academy trusts buy separately, using framework options the department reviews and approves in advance.
Procurement spend from central entities makes up 66% of overall UK public spend.
Over the past 5 years, most of the Department for Education's contract awards have been in business services, construction work and education and training.
