About the buyer
London Borough of Barking and Dagenham buys as a local authority through a dedicated Corporate Procurement team. Tenders are advertised through the council's Bravo Solution e-tendering portal. The portal integrates with the central government's Find a Tender service. Every procurement follows the Procurement Act 2023, with health and care contracts instead awarded through the Provider Selection Regime. The council is procuring a replacement e-sourcing system to succeed Bravo Solution. Registered suppliers manage purchase orders, amendments and invoices through a self-service eSupplier portal available around the clock.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of London Borough of Barking and Dagenham's contract awards have been in construction work, health and social work and public administration and defence.
