About the buyer

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office is a ministerial department that buys through its own Commercial Directorate. Every procurement runs on Jaggaer, the department's eSourcing portal, where suppliers register to bid. Opportunities and awards are published on Contracts Finder, and bids above threshold need Central Digital Platform registration. A commercial pipeline is updated every quarter. Four category teams cover programme delivery, estates and security, digital and technology, and corporate services. The department runs its own frameworks, such as the Global Development Delivery Framework, and dynamic purchasing systems for construction and global facilities management.

Procurement spend from central entities makes up 66% of overall UK public spend.

Over the past 5 years, most of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's contract awards have been in business services, transport equipment and construction work.
