About the buyer

Natural Resources Wales is a non-departmental public body, and buys through its own NRW Procurement team. Smaller purchases are awarded directly with a written quote, rising to tender as value increases. Tenders are advertised on Sell2Wales, with higher-value opportunities run through the Jaggaer eTenderWales portal. The largest requirements go out as legislative tenders once the highest threshold is passed. Framework agreements are available through the National Procurement Service, Crown Commercial Service and the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation. Contract managers and requestors across the organisation raise and manage their own purchases.

Procurement spend from central entities makes up 66% of overall UK public spend.

Over the past 5 years, most of Natural Resources Wales's contract awards have been in waste, cleaning and environmental services, agricultural and horticultural services and construction work.
