About the buyer
Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) is an executive agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). APHA also works on behalf of the Scottish Government and the Welsh Government. Goods, services and works are acquired by competition, with single-tender contracts limited to exceptional cases. Larger purchases need procurement strategy approval from Defra's sponsor team once APHA passes its delegated authority limit.
Over the past 5 years, most of APHA's contract awards have been in laboratory and precision equipment, architectural and engineering services and research and development.
