Oxford City Council buys goods, services and works as a local authority. The Contracts and Procurement Team runs procurement directly for the council, from quotations through to full tenders. Suppliers register free on the In-tend e-Procurement Portal to see current opportunities. Larger contracts also appear on Find a Tender, the government's high-value tendering service. Purchases above a set threshold must go through an approved framework or dynamic market. Tender routes range from a mini-competition or direct award under a framework to a full Competitive Flexible Procedure for complex projects.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of Oxford City Council's contract awards have been in business services, architectural and engineering services and real estate services.
