Tender description
Lewisham Council has a duty under Section 46 (1) of the Public Health (Control of Diseases) Act 1984 to provide a funeral for any person who dies or is found dead within its administrative area, where it appears that no suitable arrangements have been or are being made for the disposal of the body other than by the Council. The objective of the Service will be to provide an efficient, dignified and timely funeral service, in accordance with the wishes of the deceased and any family members and advocates for the deceased.
