About the buyer

Warrington Borough Council is a local authority serving the Warrington area, and issues its tendering opportunities through The Chest, its e-tendering system. The Chest advertises goods, works and services contracts across more than 40 North West councils. Suppliers register free on the portal and nominate the services they offer to receive matching alerts. Higher-value opportunities also appear on the government's central Find a Tender service. The council hosts frameworks for neighbouring authorities, such as Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East, Halton and St Helens, through its Transportation and Public Realm Consultancy Services Framework.

UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).

Over the past 5 years, most of Warrington Borough Council's contract awards have been in business services, IT services and health and social work.
