About the buyer

Suffolk Constabulary polices Suffolk and buys through 7 Force Commercial Services, a function it shares with six neighbouring police forces. Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk and Suffolk now pool their buying power under a shared commercial team. Suppliers must register on the government's Central Digital Platform before bidding for any live opportunity. Once registered, tenders are then advertised through the Blue Light National E-Commerce Platform. A published pipeline also lists upcoming tendering opportunities across the wider collaboration. Existing contracts sit on the National Blue Light Contracts Database, and standard terms and conditions also apply.

The top 10 blue light buyers spent a collective £2.2bn between FY2021 and FY2025.

Over the past 5 years, most of Suffolk Constabulary's contract awards have been in business services, construction work and IT services.
