The MOD Medals Office (MODMO) are responsible for the assessment of eligibility and award of Medals and Awards to serving military personnel, in some cases to their next of kin, to retired military personnel and in some cases to their families. The MODMO has a requirement for the provision of Medals, Stars, Clasps, Awards, Badges, Coins and other Associated items. The requirement will be split into 2 Lots, Lot 1 will be for Medals, Stars, Clasps, Awards and other Associated Items and Lot 2 will be for Badges and Coins. Any contract(s) resulting from this Notice will be Framework Agreements with one supplier (if each Lot should be awarded to different suppliers there would be 2 Framework Agreements each with one supplier). The MOD MODMO would call off items as they are required, in exceptional circumstances the contract may be used by other government departments to order medals. Any contract would be for a duration of 2 years with options for the Authority, at it's discretion, to extend it in monthly or annual increments for up to an additional 2 years.

About the buyer
The Ministry of Defence is a ministerial department that runs its acquisition and procurement activity through a dedicated commercial function, led by the Director Commercial. Defence Equipment & Support buys, supports and supplies equipment such as jets, warships and armoured vehicles for the armed forces. The Defence Infrastructure Organisation plans, builds and maintains the defence estate separately from equipment procurement. Suppliers can register on the Defence Sourcing Portal, the department's end-to-end eProcurement system for contract opportunities. Many purchasing agreements sit on the MOD Framework Library, its central list of framework routes to market.
Procurement spend from central entities makes up 66% of overall UK public spend.
Over the past 5 years, most of the Ministry of Defence's contract awards have been in IT services, architectural and engineering services and repair and maintenance.
