Tender description
Expressions of interest (EOIs) are sought from a contractor (or consortia with a lead contractor) for the implementation of a longitudinal study of teachers. This is a large-scale research study and it will involve, at a minimum, recruiting for and delivering an annual survey to teachers and leaders across schools in England, to collect and analyse evidence on a range of subject matter relating to the teaching workforce. The study will serve as the Department's flagship workforce research vehicle, providing key support to work underpinning the Teacher Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Strategy. The first wave will be treated as a pilot and, if deemed successful, we expect the study to run for a minimum of five years, subject to annual review. Note: we have decided not to declare the expected cost for this project at this stage. Additional information: Closing date for EOIs: 11.59pm on 21st September 2020 Send your EOI form to: Nicola Mackenzie (Jobshare.Mackenzie-Peachey@education.gov.uk) and Alex Barton (Alex.barton@education.gov.uk) Cc. Mary Roberts (Mary.roberts@education.gov.uk)

About the buyer
The Department for Education is a ministerial department responsible for children's services and education policy in England, procuring both for itself and its executive agencies. Framework purchases follow the matching Crown Commercial Service terms. Many contracts are let on standard government terms, such as Cabinet Office short-form or model services agreements. Schools and academy trusts buy separately, using framework options the department reviews and approves in advance.
Over the past 5 years, most of the Department for Education's contract awards have been in business services, construction work and education and training.
