Tender description

The Contracting Authority is looking for economic operators to facilitate the scheduled maintenance of interceptors and drains at six (6) Kirklees sites as follows: Transport Services Vine Street Huddersfield HD1 6NT The contracting authority is looking to appoint a suitable contractor to facilitate the scheduled maintenance and interceptors at six (6) Kirklees sites. Drains and Interceptors to be identified on completion of site visits following the award of the tender. Waste is primarily semi solid sludge and trace hydrocarbons arising from the emptying and cleaning of various Council vehicles. Description of waste is Interceptor waste EWC code 13050, component silt, concentration approximately 80 %, physical form sludge hazard code HP7. The preferred method of disposal is to filter and remove sludge and trace hydrocarbons and return grey waterback into the drainage system. Frequency of site visits to review as required and initial frequency to be agreed following waste stream audit between Kirklees Council and the Contractor. 1) The Contractor to submit certificated evidence of all legislative and environmental certification required for the transfer of hazardous waste; 2) The Contractor to submit all method statements and Health and Safety Policies associated with the disposal of hazardous waste; 3) The Contractor must be accredited with a Health and Safety Scheme comprised / verifiable by the SafetySchemes in Procurement (SSIP) and must maintain such accreditation throughout the duration of the Contract. The Contractor will be responsible for furnishing the Authorised Officer with details of any renewal or re-accreditation for the duration of the Contract.
