About the buyer
Prosper is a procurement consortium formed by North East housing associations for shared purchasing of construction and property services. Frameworks and dynamic purchasing systems cover new build, decarbonisation retrofit, design consultancy, kitchen supply and asbestos removal. Named partnerships, including Growth Collective and Synergy, group housing providers around each framework. Approved contractors are assessed on financial stability, track record, experience and technical ability before joining. A central commercial team compiles each tender, scores quality and price, and issues its own auditable award notification. Prosper rebranded from NE Procurement, its earlier name, in 2017.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of Prosper's contract awards have been in architectural and engineering services, construction work and construction materials.
