Tender description

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC) invited bids from licensed waste treatment provider(s) who could process segregated materials from its domestic kerbside collected recyclable waste streams that have been collected throughout the Borough of Rotherham; and accept multiple direct deliveries on a daily basis from its refuse collection vehicles. The scope of the services includes receiving, recording, handling, treatment and disposal of contract waste delivered from authorised vehicles of the Council or any agents acting on their behalf. Lot 1 includes receiving, recording, handling, treatment and disposal of the following waste streams: Glass bottles and jars: e.g. wine and beer bottles; jam and pickle jars, perfume bottles; Steel or Aluminium tins or cans: e.g. baked beans, soft drinks, chocolates, biscuits, deodorant aerosols, aluminium foil e.g. pie and takeaway cases; foil wraps; Textiles (Will be bagged separately and collected in an individual compartment of the RCV): e.g. clothing, towels, sheets, quilt covers (not quilts), pillowcases (not pillows), curtains, shoes in pairs; Plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays; Non-conforming waste up to 10 % Lot 2 includes receiving, recording, handling, treatment and disposal of the following waste streams: — mixed domestic cardboard, — mixed domestic paper (news and pamphlets), — non-conforming waste up to 5 %.
