About the buyer

NHS South Yorkshire ICB is the integrated care board for South Yorkshire, with its own regional procurement teams. Four places, Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield, sit within its area. Procurement teams are based within the region's acute and mental health trusts. South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw's collaborative buying model is used nationally as an example for integrated care systems. Contract opportunities are advertised on Find a Tender alongside individual trust notices. Around 170 GP practices and five acute trusts sit within the wider partnership.

UK health spending has nearly quadrupled to £241.8bn in 2024/25, £20bn up on the year before. £140.6bn of that went to procurement, the biggest sector of UK public spending and the fastest-growing.

Over the past 5 years, most of NHS South Yorkshire ICB's contract awards have been in health and social work, business services and public administration and defence.
