Tender description
Greater Manchester is building the Bee Network; an integrated transport network across Bus, Tram Active Travel and eventually rail, by 2028. We are planning a sustainable and affordable network were changing between modes is seamless. Greater Manchester has a developing set of micromobility schemes varying in their operation. With new powers incoming, the city-region is at a critical juncture with regards to the provision of bike and e-scooter hire. The English Devolution Bill sets out new regulations for micromobility licensing, with a framework due in the near future for licensing vehicles. Before this legislation comes into force, TfGM would like to understand what micromobility service providers and operators can offer in Greater Manchester and how this could help shape our long-term delivery strategy Keywords: Micromobility, Cycle, Scooter

About the buyer
Transport for Greater Manchester is the local transport body behind the Bee Network, buying with its own team of CIPS-qualified procurement professionals. Established frameworks, run either externally or in-house, cover much of what TfGM buys for ease and speed. Bus contracts follow a separate route, procured through the Bee Network's bus franchising model. Suppliers can reach the procurement team directly by email for guidance on bidding.
Over the past 5 years, most of Transport for Greater Manchester's contract awards have been in business services, transport services and IT services.
