Tender description

TEG (Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge, or “European Certificate in Irish”) is a professional language testing service provided by Maynooth University’s Lárionad na Gaeilge (The Centre for Irish Language). We are the only independent certification system available for Irish and the only system that is broadly aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). To accommodate expanding exam candidate volumes—projected to reach approximately 5,000 annually—and streamline administrative workflows, TEG is initiating a digital transformation programme. Under this competition, Maynooth University invites tenders for the design, configuration, implementation, hosting and support of an integrated, modular digital examination ecosystem. The new solution will encompass the delivery of a bilingual public website and Content Management System, a candidate self-service portal for exam bookings and payments, a comprehensive administration platform, and an automated digital exam certification solution. The platform must integrate with a digital language testing platform. The total budget for this project is €130,300 excluding VAT.

About the buyer

Maynooth University is a publicly funded higher education institution in County Kildare, and buys through its own procurement office. Public funding obliges the university to tender its services, supplies and works requirements openly. Frameworks and contracts from the Office of Government Procurement are used wherever possible. Sourcing partners of the Office of Government Procurement also put those frameworks in place. Tenders respect the EU Treaty principles of fairness, openness, transparency and proportionality.

Over the past 5 years, most of Maynooth University's contract awards have been in business services, architectural and engineering services and office and computing equipment.
