Future shelters will focus on key pain points for our customers including safety, accessibility, convenience and travel information and may include enhancements such as seating, lighting, digital advertising, solar and low energy lighting and screen technologies where appropriate. The general principles of the Metrolink waiting environment should be what we aim to replicate on bus, with cleaning and maintenance regimes to ensure that the assets are presentable and maintained to a high standard. Shelters provide a valuable revenue stream for the organisation through advertising.
