Tender description

PURCH2986 Contract Agreement for Electron Counting Detector for Cryo Transmission Electron Microscopy & Associated Services and Maintenance for the period of 36 Months, with a further 2 optional extension periods of 12 months. This procurement process is being conducted using the Competitive Procedure with Negotiation (CPN) in accordance with the requirements of Regulation 30 of the PC(S)R 2015. The Scottish Centre for Macromolecular Imaging at the University of Glasgow has recently received BBSRC ALERT funding to upgrade the detector on their JEOL F2-Cryo electron microscope. The detector will replace an earlier ‘first generation’ direct detector on the microscope and provide their users with access to a 200kV-optimised detector with electron counting, superresolution and correlated double sampling technologies. The detector will significantly boost the capabilities of the overall system and the F2-Cryo with upgraded detector is expected to deliver rapid, high confidence specimen screening data on low molecular weight/challenging targets. The upgraded system is expected to deliver publication quality data on more straightforward, larger or symmetric targets. For detailed specification, please refer to PURCH2986 - Schedule 1A - Invitation to Tender.
