About the buyer

Transport for London operates the capital's transport network for the Mayor of London, and buys as a local government organisation on behalf of TfL, the Greater London Authority and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation. Suppliers register free on the SAP Business Network, where TfL's contract opportunities are published. Higher-value contracts appear on Find a Tender, with Contracts Finder used for smaller opportunities. A dedicated opportunities page lists larger upcoming work on a periodic basis. Rail-related work can be sourced through RISQS, the rail industry supplier qualification scheme, without a published tender notice.

UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).

Over the past 5 years, most of Transport for London's contract awards have been in transport services, business services and repair and maintenance.
