About the buyer
Science Museum Group is an agency and non-departmental public body that runs six national museums, including the Science Museum in London and the National Railway Museum in York. Tenders are published through the Group's own procurement portal, hosted on In-Tend. Larger opportunities also appear on Find a Tender, with smaller contracts advertised on Contracts Finder. A Sustainable Procurement Policy scores tenderers on environmental, ethical and social value criteria. The Board of Trustees oversees how the Group is run. Venue hire, touring exhibitions and consultancy work add further income for the Group.
Procurement spend from central entities makes up 66% of overall UK public spend.
Over the past 5 years, most of Science Museum Group's contract awards have been in architectural and engineering services, recreation, culture and sport and business services.
