Purpose of this Preliminary Market Consultation The IBTS is undertaking a Preliminary Market Consultation (PMC) to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of automated workwear dispensing and management system suitable for use within laboratory environments. The purpose of this consultation is to assist the IBTS in understanding the current market, available technologies, potential delivery and operating models, implementation requirements and indicative costs before determining whether and how to proceed with a formal procurement. This PMC is being undertaken as part of the pre-procurement planning process. This PMC is not a call for competition, request for tender or request for a formal quotation. No contract will be awarded as a result of this consultation. The information obtained may be used to inform the development of any subsequent procurement. Requirement The proposed requirement is for an automated workwear dispensing solution capable of providing authorised personnel with access to laboratory garments. The initial garment categories under consideration are: • Laboratory tunics • Laboratory trousers • Laboratory coats The system may be required to accommodate multiple garment types, styles and sizes for use in general laboratory and clean room areas. The system should allow for access control, automated dispensing, garment identification and traceability, stock management, management information. The arrangement will include the maintenance of the system, and the supply and laundry of garments. The final scope and specification have not yet been determined and the IBTS is seeking market input before establishing the final requirements.
