Tender description

HMP Welland Oaks is a new Category B long term high secure prison, accommodating c1800 prisoners is currently under construction on a site adjacent to HMP Gartree. The two prisons will be run separately but will be divided by a gate. The new site, HMP Welland Oaks, has an estimated first prisoner date of March 2029 and will be operated by HMPPS.
