Trinity College Dublin is seeking vendors who can provide 24/7 Data Centre Monitoring and Support Services. Trinity College Dublin IT Infrastructure spans several sites and is equipped with four data centres. The main and secondary data centres are located on the main campus site in city centre Dublin. The majority of the users and IT infrastructure are located at the main campus. A fourth data centre is located on a remote site and is hosted by a third party as a Business Continuity site on the greater Dublin area. Trinity requires a 24/7 monitoring, maintenance and support contract for its main data centre – known as the GDC – the Green Data Centre in the city centre campus. Four annual site visits to conduct detailed health checks on each component of the contract must be provided as well as the ability to offer consultation on changes or upgrades to any of the supported infrastructure along with advice on any potential new projects related to data centre management and development. The number of support calls logged over the past number of years has been quite low – no more than 2 or 3 support calls per year. The site visit health checks are to be performed on all supported systems, with a report produced detailing the findings and recommendations.
