Tender description
The financial burden of caring is recognised as a priority for unpaid carers and has been widely reported nationally. This service aims to: • Ensure unpaid carers receive the financial support they need to continue their vital role without facing undue financial hardship. • To improve the customer journey and satisfaction with social care interventions and support. The Income Maximisation service will support Carers to identify and access the financial support they are entitled to. By guiding Carers to the financial resources and entitlements available to them, the service will play a crucial role in reducing financial stress for the whole family and enhancing carer economic well-being. The service will provide a well-defined support 'offer', tailored to accommodate the diverse needs of Carers by adapting how advice is delivered. We expect that various methods will be available for Carers to access support, including online solutions to reach more Carers where applicable. ## Contract award ## Contract award

About the buyer
Surrey County Council buys as a local government organisation, with procurement led by its own Director of Procurement. Suppliers register on the Proactis Supplier Network, the e-sourcing portal used for major tenders and requests for quotation. Registered suppliers can express interest and submit bids for live opportunities directly through that portal. The same Proactis system manages contracts, purchase orders and invoices once a contract is awarded. Larger procurements are advertised through the Find a Tender service under the Procurement Act 2023. The Surrey-i website separately lists the council's live contracts register for suppliers to check ongoing work.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of Surrey County Council's contract awards have been in transport services, architectural and engineering services and business services.
