About the buyer

Plymouth City Council buys as a local authority, running its own Procurement Service for construction, facilities management, professional services, and environment and transport contracts. A separate Strategic Co-operative Commissioning Team handles social care and healthcare contracts instead.

A rolling Capital Procurement Pipeline gives suppliers advance notice of upcoming construction and infrastructure work.

Over the past 5 years, most of Plymouth City Council's contract awards have been in IT services, construction work and architectural and engineering services.
