Tender description

The Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) (the 'Authority'), ‎actively supported by the Royal Institute of British Architects ('RIBA') has concluded a ‎procurement on behalf of the Grenfell Tower Memorial Commission ('GTMC') to secure ‎multi-disciplinary design services from a multi-disciplinary design team (MDDT) to ‎develop the design for the Grenfell Memorial. The lead designer awarded the contract is ‎required to commence design activity at RIBA Stage 0 (Strategic Definition) to enable ‎bereaved, survivors and immediate community to influence the development of design. ‎The design will be iteratively developed under a community-led design process and the ‎RIBA Plan of Work. Lot 1: The multi-disciplinary design team will be required to deliver a Technical Design that, ‎when accepted, will be constructed by the Grenfell Memorial Main Contractor under a ‎separate contract (to be procured). The design will be developed under a community-‎led design process that will be influenced and informed by bereaved, survivors and ‎immediate community. The lead designer will undertake the roles of Principal Designer ‎Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and, Principal Designer ‎‎(Building Regulations). The lead designer will lead and co-ordinate a multi-disciplinary ‎design team to develop the design of a fitting memorial that will stand the test of time ‎and act as a permanent symbol of remembrance. Developed iteratively, the lead ‎designer will be required to engage with bereaved, survivors and immediate community ‎in order to develop key principles that will underpin the delivery of the Technical ‎Design. Services will operate from RIBA Stage 0 through 7 (inclusive).
