Tender description
The Council is looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced UK-based service provider to undertake research and analysis of the role nature-based solutions could play in the financial viability of low carbon energy projects. About the buyer
Cambridgeshire County Council buys as a local authority for Cambridgeshire, with a dedicated procurement and commercial team supporting suppliers. Most tenders are published through ProContract, the council's electronic procurement system. Larger procurements also appear nationally on Find a Tender, the government's procurement portal. Health related contracts are commissioned through the Provider Selection Regime instead. The children's commissioning team runs dynamic purchasing systems for external placements, home and community support and supported accommodation for young people. A separate dynamic purchasing system covers education and social care transport, from minibuses to taxis.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of Cambridgeshire County Council's contract awards have been in health and social work, construction work and IT services.
