About the buyer

Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance services across Yorkshire, and buys as an NHS trust with its own procurement team. Contracts follow the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and a risk-balanced approach that looks beyond price alone. The Trust also runs its own framework agreement for patient transport subcontractors.

Non-emergency patient transport is commissioned under the Provider Selection Regime rather than open tender.

Over the past 5 years, most of Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust's contract awards have been in medical equipment and pharmaceuticals, transport equipment and repair and maintenance.
