Tender description
See the Request for Quotation document provided, that contains detailed instructions. Summary: William Knibb Centre (inc Meeting Room Suite), Montagu Street, Kettering, NN16 8AE - Post inspection fire door repairs. • Make compliant repairs to fire doors as highlighted by the report that adhere to current national standards and regulations such as The Building Regulations and Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order (2005) for example. Additional information: Clarification Q&A: Q: The RFQ mentions the spreadsheet is embedded within the document, but it doesn't seem to be there. Can you please send this over? A: You can insert your costs into the tables (F & G) on the RFQ Word document, which are on pages 13 & 14 Q: 1. Where the descriptions states 'door not certified/leaf not certified/no certification seen' we are unable to conduct the actions under BM-Trada, you would have 1 of 2 options, 1- replace the whole doorset or 2- complete the actions but these will not be certifiable and will be classed as a betterment fix*. Can you confirm the options you wish to go ahead with? Alternatively, I can provide costs for both options. *Betterment Explained: In these instances where we cannot be certain of a specific achievable fire rating, we work to a standard to provide "Betterment". This basically referrers to "something is better than nothing" type scenario. The products we use however are all tested to provide 120 Minutes Fire Protection (Up to 4 hours in some instances). These products however are only as good as the construction they are fixed to. A: You can cost for both but you must ensure that you structure how the costs are presented to clearly identify the options being priced for or your quotation may not be competitive. Q: do you have any more info on the doors and faults? Do you have any images etc? A: A site survey is recommended and that can be booked in with the contacts provided on the RFQ Document
