About the buyer

The National Archives is a non-ministerial government department that manages its own tenders and contracts. A licensing team runs a separate tender route for suppliers wanting to digitise, transcribe or publish its historical records. Successful licensees cover their own project costs and pay royalties back to the archive.

Over the past 5 years, most of The National Archives's contract awards have been in business services, software and information systems and IT services.
