About the buyer
London Borough of Tower Hamlets is an East London local authority that awards contracts through public tender, framework agreements and Dynamic Purchasing System registration. Contracts above the advertising threshold are tendered through the London Tenders Portal, powered by Proactis Due North. Lower-value work is instead sought through the Proactis Request for Quote tool. Open tenders also appear on the Find a Tender Service. Suppliers can join Dynamic Purchasing Systems covering weight management, education support workers, design and print, and construction-related work. The council holds CIPS procurement excellence accreditation for its buying practices.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of London Borough of Tower Hamlets's contract awards have been in health and social work and construction work.
