In the interim, facilities must be available for artefacts to be retrieved for pop-up displays and use by researchers, on a charged-for basis.\r \r Only one supplier has been identified that is able to accommodate the fragile collections in the timescale required, and over a 5-year period the cost will be c. £52,750 + VAT As such, we propose to use Protocol 8 as a sole supplier appointment.

About the buyer
Derbyshire County Council is the local authority for the county of Derbyshire and organises its procurement by category under a five-year rolling strategy. Tender notices are published on Find a Tender, the Central Digital Platform, under the Procurement Act 2023. Documents for each tender are issued through the Proactis supplier portal, where suppliers register and set tailored alerts. Category management consolidates recurring spend into frameworks and dynamic purchasing systems. Three category leads cover corporate, property and ICT, people services, and place. Call-offs from ESPO frameworks for estates and language services are recorded as published council decisions.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of Derbyshire County Council's contract awards have been in construction work, transport services and business services.
