Tender description
The London Borough of Hackney’s Immigration Advice and Support service is provided through casework support, specialist immigration advice and/or second-tier advice and signposting. The service works with families who have no recourse to public funds who are in receipt of section 17 support from Hackney Children and Families Services, in order to support the timely resolution of their immigration issues. Ahead of a re-procurement of this service in early 2025, the Council now wishes to consult with potential providers across the sector and has organised a market engagement/information event to assist in shaping its commissioning process which, in turn, will be used to inform the re-procurement of this service. We will be seeking to engage a specialist organisation who will provide a worker who is qualified at OISC level 1 or above for a minimum of 2.5 days per week, to provide casework support, specialist immigration advice, and/or second-tier advice and signposting to families that are referred to them by the Council’s No Recourse to Public Funds Team. The market engagement event will take place virtually on Wednesday 13th November 2024 from 2pm to 3.30pm via the Google Meets Platform.Further details will be forwarded to interested parties nearer the time. The closing date for expressions of interest is Tuesday 12th November 2024 12pm Midday.Providers will be given the opportunity to not only listen to the vision, but to contribute to the discussion on how the Council can help with: - Proactively developing local knowledge and relationships - Using resources to best support children, families and communities. If you would like to participate in this event, please register your interest via the messaging function on this portal. Interested organisations are requested to state their area of expertise by completing a brief questionnaire and submitting it via the portal or by email to Claudette.Lewis@hackney.gov.uk before the closing date for expressions of interest. About the buyer
London Borough of Hackney is a local authority that buys through its own procurement team, the Hackney Procurement Centre. Contract opportunities are advertised on ProContract, the council's eTendering system. Registration on ProContract is free, though every supplier is manually vetted before approval. Larger contracts also appear on Find a Tender, and suppliers bidding nationally must register on the government's central digital platform under the Procurement Act 2023. A public contracts register lists every agreement the council has awarded. Suppliers registered on ProContract can also bid for further London authority and public sector contracts.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of London Borough of Hackney's contract awards have been in construction work, architectural and engineering services and health and social work.
