Evaluation of a sample of Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme funded projects

Tender description

The Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme, managed by DESNZ, has provided over £1BN of funds to NHS trusts to deliver carbon reduction programmes since 2020/21. Many of these projects have already been delivered, some of which are examplar in nature for the NHS estate. Initial empirical data indicates a varied level of project carbon actual savings vs projected savings. This project would evaluate the outcomes of a cross sample of these decarbonisation projects across the NHS estate in England. Evaluating the impact of the installed technologies will allow further heat and site decarbonisation plans to be aligned, templates developed and guidance created to support benefits realisation for projects, thereby reducing the costs for planning and ensuring that organisations without energy management resources can develop a plan for investment. This will ensure that the NHS can continue to deliver value for money across decarbonisation projects.
