Tender description
This contract is for the provision of a community base worker with a focus on working differently with and in communities to build good health and wellbeing, titled “Collaborating for Health”. The decision taken to award this contract for a community based worker was made on 24/04/2024. The contract award was made to the highest scoring bidder, for the reasons including the bidder meeting the essential requirements of the specification. Lot 1: In June 2023, the Health and Wellbeing Board sponsored a conference focused on working differently with and in communities to build good health and wellbeing, titled “Collaborating for Health”. The event focused on how citizens, Voluntary and Community and Faith (VCF) Sector organisations, and Statutory Services can work together differently within existing resources to achieve better outcomes and heard from speakers both from inside and outside Sheffield on how things could be done differently. Independent facilitation of the Collaborating for Health Working Group will support members to work together to develop and socialise a proposal to challenge old ways of working and champion a new Sheffield approach to creating health and wellbeing, which depends on Sheffielders, Voluntary, Community and Faith (VCF) sector organisations, and public services drawing on their strengths and working together.

About the buyer
Sheffield City Council is a local authority for the city of Sheffield, and runs its own procurement function for contracts across the organisation. Tender opportunities are advertised on YORtender, the council's e-tendering portal shared with local authorities across the Yorkshire and Humber region. Contracts above threshold also appear on Find a Tender, with lower-value opportunities listed on Contracts Finder. Framework agreements let the council call off from appointed suppliers without a fresh advertisement. An evaluation panel scores each bid, and the highest-scoring supplier wins the contract. Contract details are then published in the Contract Register within YORtender.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of Sheffield City Council's contract awards have been in business services, construction work and IT services.
