Tender description
The purpose of this Preliminary Market Consultation (PMC) is to seek input from potential suppliers within the market, to establish the type of solution and functionality that is available for Outreach Day Short Break provision. The Preliminary Market Engagement Questionnaire will provide an opportunity for Wolverhampton City Council (WCC) to obtain an insight into how potential suppliers might approach the delivery of this service and gain an understanding into the likely level of interest from the market. Potential suppliers will not be prejudiced by any response or failure to respond to the PMC. Potential suppliers must also note that a response to this notice does not guarantee an invitation to participate in any future procurement that WCC may conduct. About the buyer
Wolverhampton City Council is a local authority that runs its own corporate procurement function covering goods and services for the city. Tenders and contract opportunities are published through the ProContract portal, where free registration takes about ten minutes. A public contracts register lists every live agreement the council holds. Projects due for retender within the next three years appear in a rolling procurement pipeline. Many requirements are sourced through existing frameworks, where suppliers have already pre-competed, rather than run as fresh competitions. Registered suppliers are notified automatically when a new opportunity matches their expertise.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of Wolverhampton City Council's contract awards have been in architectural and engineering services, construction work and health and social work.
