About the buyer
Tees Valley Combined Authority procures as a local authority body, buying on behalf of the wider TVCA Group. The Group also covers South Tees Development Corporation, Hartlepool Development Corporation, Middlesbrough Development Corporation and Teesside International Airport. Opportunities above a set financial threshold are advertised publicly on Find a Tender. Suppliers must register on the Delta eSourcing portal to view full tender documents and submit bids. Frameworks are the Group's preferred route to market, used ahead of running individual tenders. The Group also sets up its own frameworks for additional public bodies to use.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of the Tees Valley Combined Authority's contract awards have been in business services, architectural and engineering services and construction work.
