About the buyer

The Joint Nature Conservation Committee advises government on nature conservation, and buys as a central government agency based in Peterborough. Defra is the parent department whose contracting practice the committee follows. Suppliers create an account on the platform and set alerts for relevant opportunities. Buying starts with Government Commercial Agency contracts where one exists, then collaborative frameworks shared with fellow executive agencies.

Over the past 5 years, most of the Joint Nature Conservation Committee's contract awards have been in waste, cleaning and environmental services, research and development and laboratory and precision equipment.
