About the buyer

Clare County Council is a local authority for County Clare, and procurement runs as a devolved function across its own departments. A central Procurement Unit sets policy and oversees compliance with the EU's public procurement rules. Temporary frameworks set up through these platforms run for up to four years rather than standing approved lists. Below those thresholds, departments use simplified quote procedures or direct email requests instead of open tender.

Over the past 5 years, most of Clare County Council's contract awards have been in construction work, security and defence equipment and transport equipment.
