Tender description
PLEASE NOTE: THE CLOSING DATE FOR THIS NOTICE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 20/11/23. PLEASE NOTE: There have been some issues opening the references listed in Annex 3 of the RFQ. These have now been added to the 'attachments' section. Baseline monitoring of Dartmoor ESA moorland vegetation was established in 1994. Resurveys were carried out in 1997, 2003 and 2010. Additional plots/transects were added in 1997 and 2003 resulting in a total of 77 sites. The purpose of this project is to resurvey the radiating heather grazing transects from the 50 sample points originally surveyed in 1994. The resurvey will in general follow the method developed for ESA moorland heather grazing monitoring established on Dartmoor in 1994. It involves the collection of data on a range of variables related to grazing impacts and dwarf shrub height cover. Additional information: To apply for this opportunity you must submit your quotation meeting the requirements detailed in the Request for Quotation (RFQ) attached. Your response must be sent to david.hazlehurst@naturalengland.org.uk by 12 midday on 20/11/23. If you have any clarification questions linked to this opportunity or the procurement process please submit these via email to david.hazlehurst@naturalengland.org.uk. Please note that, unless commercially sensitive, both the question and the response will be circulated to all tenderers.

About the buyer
Natural England is a non-departmental public body, and buys through its own eSourcing portal for organisations wanting to work with it. Registration on the portal is free, and suppliers can browse live opportunities without commitment. Contract awards and the documents behind them are published separately on Contracts Finder, the government's central register for public sector contract opportunities and awards. Procurement queries can be directed to Natural England's own procurement support team, or to Defra's central procurement contact, depending on the enquiry. Successful bidders must supply a Dun & Bradstreet DUNS number before a contract is confirmed.
Procurement spend from central entities makes up 66% of overall UK public spend.
Over the past 5 years, most of Natural England's contract awards have been in research and development, waste, cleaning and environmental services and architectural and engineering services.
