D20/CON/500 - Qualification System for Poling and Associated works in the Republic of Ireland

ESB proposes to establish a Qualification System under a negotiated procedure for Poling and Associated works in the Republic of Ireland. It is envisaged that the scope of works to be procured under this Qualification System will include but is not limited to the following poling and associated works: Note: The 10kV and 20kV networks, referred to as medium voltage (MV), feed the low voltage (LV) network which operates at 400/230V (3phase/single phase). This LV network is comprised of feeder circuits connected from MV/LV transformers to customers’ premises. LV/MV- 38kV – 110kV Poling Works: i. Fabric renewal and retirement of ESB Networks’ existing High Voltage (HV) 110kV/38kV, Medium Voltage (MV) 20kV/10kV and Low Voltage (LV) including Urban (LVU) and Low Voltage Rural (LVR) Poling works incorporating both Live and Dead poling. ii. New High Voltage (HV) 110kV/38kV, Medium Voltage (MV) 20kV/10kV and Low Voltage (LV) including Urban (LVU) and Low Voltage Rural (LVR) Poling works. iii. Poling works associated with installation of new connections for ESB Network’s Services Customers. iv. Replacement of defective wood poles. v. Replacement of old stay rods and stay guards, damaged or obsolete earths. vi. Plumbing / straightening of off-centre poles under live and non-live conditions. vii. Testing of contract installed earthing installation. viii. Ducting work associated with service extensions of single phase and three phase underground services to new pole positions. ix. Retirement of old hardware and poles to selected ESB locations. x. Correction of inadequate clearances to ground. xi. Temporary and Permanent Reinstatement following on from poling works xii. Emergency/storm response poling works for LVMV, 38kV and 110kV (2hr Response Time). xiii. Traffic management.
