About the buyer
West Sussex County Council buys as a local authority, with a Procurement and Contract Services team based at County Hall in Chichester. Beyond its own tenders, the council draws on consortia including the Central Buying Consortium, the Crown Commercial Service and the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation. Each school's governing body controls its own purchasing budget, supported by the council's procurement team.
Over the past 5 years, most of West Sussex County Council's contract awards have been in transport services, IT services and business services.
