About the buyer

Iarnród Eireann-Irish Rail operates Ireland's passenger and freight rail network as a subsidiary of CIÉ, with its own procurement department. Procurement covers the goods, services and works needed to keep the network running safely. A Chief Civil Engineer oversees infrastructure works such as track, bridges and stations. A published Sustainable Procurement Strategy, developed with the Supply Chain Sustainability School, shapes purchasing decisions across the business.

Over the past 5 years, most of Iarnród Eireann-Irish Rail's contract awards have been in architectural and engineering services, transport equipment and construction work.
