About the buyer
St James's Hospital is Ireland's largest acute academic teaching hospital and a registered charity, and buys as a healthcare organisation through its own procurement unit. The Procurement Unit sits within the Finance Directorate. Directorates draw on that unit for procurement expertise and market engagement. The hospital has tendered patient equipment maintenance by competitive dialogue, split into three lots.
Over the past 5 years, most of St James's Hospital's contract awards have been in medical equipment and pharmaceuticals, laboratory and precision equipment and security and defence equipment.
