About the buyer

East Suffolk Council is a local authority that runs procurement through a shared service covering four councils and its own trading company. Great Yarmouth Borough Council, South Norfolk Council and Broadland District Council all use the same procurement team. East Suffolk Services Limited, the council's own trading company, is covered by the same arrangement. Contracts are awarded on value for money rather than lowest price alone, under open and transparent procurement rules. The council pays 98% of its suppliers within 30 days.

Over the past 5 years, most of East Suffolk Council's contract awards have been in construction work, architectural and engineering services and business services.
