Tender description
Two additional contractors are required to carry out works on Unitas Safe & Warm Homes project (the works include but are not limited to; central heating upgrades, electrical upgrades, loft insulation, damp remedial works, internal repairs, external repairs and roof repairs) to complete our requirement to formulate a 3 contractor framework. The framework has previously been advertised but attracted insufficient interest to allow the appointment of the required three contractors. The contract duration is for an initial 2 year period with the option to extend for a further 2 years commencing in December 2023. The call off process is outlined within the contract attached to this tender. As the opportunity has been previously advertised, first place on the framework has been filled, the successful contractors from this tender will be placed second and third on the framework. Full details are available via ProContract tendering portal.

About the buyer
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is a local authority, and its Category Management team runs procurement from the Civic Centre. Contract opportunities are listed on the council's own tender-search portal and on the government's Contracts Finder service. Pro-Contract, the Supply Stoke and Staffordshire portal, hosts contract opportunities shared across Staffordshire councils. A Commercial Pipeline gives suppliers advance notice of upcoming contracts before they are formally advertised. Every tendering procedure follows the council's own Procurement Code alongside the Procurement Act 2023. An awarded contracts directory publishes the outcome of every past tender for suppliers to review.
UK local government drives £140bn in annual procurement, led by social protection (£66.6bn) and education (£57.1bn).
Over the past 5 years, most of Stoke-on-Trent City Council's contract awards have been in construction work, architectural and engineering services and health and social work.
