About the buyer
Limerick City and County Council is the local authority serving Limerick city and county, procuring goods, services and works for the region and its communities. Tenders and contract notices are advertised on the national eTenders portal. Lower-value goods and services procurement runs through SupplyGov.ie, the shared system for local authorities. A dedicated procurement policy sets out the council's rules and thresholds for competitive tendering. Corporate, Governance and Customer Services oversees procurement activity across the council's departments. Guidance for sole traders and small businesses on bidding for council contracts is published alongside the policy.
€29.5bn was the estimated value of contracts awarded across the Irish public sector in 2025.
Over the past 5 years, most of Limerick City and County Council's contract awards have been in architectural and engineering services, construction work and business services.
