Tender description

Procurement of a service provider that can provide a coherent package of careers guidance and employability support for 100 young people, across three mainstream and three specialist SEND schools, who are disadvantaged and have special education needs and disabilities. During Years 10 and 11, each young person will participate in an enhanced, increasingly personalised careers programme to support them to explore and compare the full range of post-16 options, including high-quality work experience placements. They will also be involved, along with key stakeholders including parents and carers, in creating a personalised Transition Action Plan to overcome barriers to transition so they can receive sustained and targeted support as they prepare for their chosen post- 16 destination and during their first 6 months within it. About the buyer

North Tyneside Council delivers local services across the borough as a local authority, advertising its contract opportunities on the NEPO Portal. Suppliers register free on the portal, then register interest in a specific opportunity before submitting a questionnaire and supporting documents. A Dynamic Purchasing System lets suppliers apply at any time, with compliance checked first and mini-competitions run for individual requirements. Suppliers can opt out of individual mini-competitions without losing their place on the DPS. The Business Factory, the council's business support programme, offers workshops and one-to-one help with bids for larger contracts.

Over the past 5 years, most of North Tyneside Council's contract awards have been in construction materials, health and social work and construction work.
